actually, I use a laptop so the end button is right next to the arrow keys

How do you make the arrow keys work? Even when i press Num Lock it still types in numbers instead of letters.

umm num lock is supposed to be off on a laptop.

Mine still appear as numbers. I think my OS has a messed up Num Lock because the light flashes when I press it but it doesn't make any effect when I use my number pad.
